    A blanket woven in the oasis of Khotan, around you in the morning. The light just filtering through, the silence of waking and not moving yet.

    Violet, waterlily and cashmere open white and weightless. Narcissus, mimosa and jasmine sambac soften the heart, before white musk, sugared almond and sandalwood settle into quiet.

    Khotan is an oasis on the southern edge of the Taklamakan, in today's western China — a stop on the Silk Road Marco Polo crossed, renowned for its fine cloth and jade.
